Annual Ice Fishing Derby

Its that time of year again....join us for our 9th Annual Kate's Bait Ice Fishing Derby. Where: Register at Kate's Bait and fish ANYWHERE YOU WANT within the designated fishing time: 6AM-1PM January 21st. Registration will be open the day of the event at Kate's Bait at 4:30AM. You can pre-register for the event and start fishing at 6AM but you MUST be weighted in at Kate's Bait no later than 1PM to qualify for fish prizes.

Categories: Pan Fishing Contest is ran in 1-2 Person Teams: "Most" Panfish (Best stringer of 10 Crappies/Bluegill/Perch), Largest of each- Crappie, Bluegill, Perch & Smallest fish of the day. Weigh-in your stringer at Kate's Bait.

Memory Maker Award: Largest Bass, Walleye & Northern. Each team will be assigned a team number which they will receive at registration the day of or by text at 6AM the day of the event. When you catch one of these fish you will lay a ruler down, lay the fish down and have your team number on a card and take a picture. The picture will clearly show the measurements of the fish. The picture will be disqualified if the nose of the fish is not at the end of the ruler or your team number is not in the picture. The picture will be sent to a designated number announced the day of the event. People can also weight in these fish at Kate's Bait. Allowing angler to send a picture helps allow these fish to keep swimming if the angler doesn't have a use for them.

100% Cash Payout for Prizes Adults: $15 per Person Kids: $5 per Person

Ice Derby Raffle: The raffle is a separate ticket and you do not have to participate in the derby to enter. Raffle Tickets will be $10 each and on Sale starting December 9th. The grand prize is HUGE- Complete Ice Fishing Package with Ice Shelter, Strikemaster 24V Auger, Vexliar FL8, Chair, Sled and Pole. Valued at $1500. You do not need to be present to win the raffle. The winner will be drawn after the derby prizes are awarded on January 21st around 1:30-2PM. If you are not able to make the derby, stop in and get yourself a raffle ticket.

We are happy to celebrate our 9th year with this event held on the FREE FISHING WEEKEND in Wisconsin so fun for all ages and no fishing license is required. Pre-Registration will begin January 14th.
