Kate's Bait & Sporting Goods opened it's doors May of 2013, renting a small space from another business, Rickey Ridge Taxidermy Studio, in Dodgeville WI.  October 1st, 2013, Kate's Bait moved to our new location just one mile south of  Governor Dodge State Park just outside of Dodgeville on Hwy 23.  We expanded our inventory not only providing the largest selection in the area of Live Bait, Tackle & Sporting Goods but now provide, Beer, Ice, Firewood, Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, FFL Holder, DNR License Agent, CWD Sampling, Old Hickory Building Sales and 24 Hour Live Bait Vending. 

Our goal is to provide the means to our community to get outdoors and enjoy life.  Our community is surrounded by some great resources such as Governor Dodge State Park, Blackhawk Lake, Yellowstone State Parks and the Wisconsin River.  We use the products we sell so that we can offer valuable advice.  If you don't see what you are looking for, we will do our best to order what you need in the shortest amount of time.  Kate's Bait recently open the KB Ice Cream shop serving Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream April through September.   We are fortunate to live near one of the largest fish farms in Wisconsin which allows us to offer the freshest bait around.  Our 24 Hour Live Bait Vending Machine holds minnows, worms and basic tackle so even when we are closed, you never have to go without bait. We offer bulk crawlers order, cleaned for your Canada fishing trips too.
